My work explores the emotional language of color, movement, and memory.
Twice in my life I survived near-death experiences. After the second, following a serious car accident, I returned with a heightened awareness of color and light unlike anything I had experienced before. Since then, painting has become my way of translating those impressions into contemporary abstract works that invite reflection, hope, and human connection.
Creativity first entered my life through my mother, who taught me to see beauty in ordinary moments while painting flowers in our Chicago garden. Even after her passing, her presence never left my studio. Every painting carries a quiet conversation with the woman who first taught me to see the world as an artist.
Working primarily in acrylic, I paint intuitively rather than from sketches or predetermined compositions. Bold color, layered texture, and expressive movement emerge organically until each painting reveals its own emotional story. No two works are ever alike.
My paintings are created to transform not only a wall, but the atmosphere of a space. Rather than telling viewers what to see, they invite personal interpretation, allowing each collector to discover meaning through their own experiences and emotions.
Every painting begins without a plan. I trust color to lead, allowing intuition rather than control to shape the work. My hope is that each piece becomes more than something to look at—it becomes something to feel.
Today, I create one-of-a-kind contemporary paintings from my studio on the Southern California coast, where I continue exploring the relationship between color, emotion, and the resilience of the human spirit.
